We have had the absolute pleasure of being a part of The Oak Tree Playhouse for two years now. After meeting Yuka and visiting her beautiful space for a “parent and me” class I was absolutely thrilled to hear she was starting her own preschool and jumped at the chance to join without hesitation. Our son Liam is in love with not only Yuka and her kind and gentle manner, but also her amazing backyard sanctuary, indoor play space, creative outdoor art spaces, as well as all the new friends he has fostered relationships with. Through the play-based education Yuka provides Liam has grown so much in his physical and cognitive development and also noticeably in his social/emotional development through group activities, sharing and taking turns, and imaginative play with his peers. From gardening, building, dress up, puzzles, seasonal sensory activities, reading and letter recognition to challenging themselves physically on hikes, farm day and outdoor play there is never a dull moment at OTP! Our entire family is SO thankful to be a part of The Oak Tree Playhouse community

The Oak Tree Playhouse and Yuka’s leadership are the biggest gift our family received in the last few years. I vividly remember my son attending Yuka’s play classes and us joking with Yuka that we wish we could find a preschool with her as a teacher. Turns out we won the lottery when she opened The Oak Tree Playhouse. Yuka is incredibly creative, building on the interests of the kids in such thoughtful ways. She strikes an incredible balance of nurturing the students’ interests while also challenging them in a gentle and playful way to encourage their growth and development. When our son started at OTP, he barely used his words and was very timid. Thanks to OTP he has come out of his shell and grown so much, and is chatting up a storm. In addition to the amazing preschool, OTP is a community. The community looks out for one another in beautiful ways. We never want to leave OTP!

We feel incredibly lucky to have found The Oak Tree Playhouse. From the very first moment, they have welcomed this group of kids with open arms, nurturing and guiding them with patience, encouragement, and warmth. The outdoor space encourages children to explore, get messy, and engage their senses in the world around them. What truly sets OTP apart, though, is how they foster imagination and creativity at every turn. Ms. Yuka has crafted an environment where children are free to take risks, try new things, discover their own strengths, and stretch the limits of their creativity.
We’ve witnessed our daughter blossom emotionally, socially, and cognitively, and we attribute much of this growth to the vibrant, encouraging atmosphere at OTP. It’s a place where children are given the freedom to explore their own potential while being supported every step of the way. The Oak Tree Playhouse has truly been a magical experience for our family, one we will always cherish. We are so grateful for the memories and milestones they’ve helped create.

It’s rare in life that you come across someone as warm and genuine as Yuka Johnson. With care and consideration for each individual child she crafts weekly experiences and explorations for The Oak Tree Playhouse family. I use the word “family” as opposed to “students” intentionally.
Yuka and her assistant teachers have created a strong community within the families of those attending by welcoming parent participation, hosting celebrations and encouraging play dates.
I cannot express how grateful I am to have a community of people who celebrate my child’s growth along with me, and to share in the joy of watching our little people play, connect with nature, form bonds and thrive together.

My son is in his second year at OTP. OTP is the most magical place and feels like one big family. The way he has learned through play and exploring has been amazing as parents to see. He is so excited to go each day and never wants to leave. We feel so lucky and fortunate to be apart of the OTP community and are forever grateful for Yuka providing such a safe, nurturing, fun, creative, playful and loving environment for our son.

We could not be happier with the oak tree playhouse. My son is very attached to me but he feels so comfortable and runs right in every morning. He always tells me he has the best day and got to play with everything. He is thriving at the oaktree playhouse. Highly recommend for any type of kid ❤️

What a wonderful place to let your little one spend some important years! It allows the kids to have fun and freedom while learning. I can’t say enough about OTP…I am so grateful my daughter got to be a part of it! I highly recommend OTP.

The Oak Tree Playhouse is the best place to allow your child to grow at his or her own pace. It is not just a preschool but a small community that cares for one another. Yuka provides individualized care and caters to each child’s needs. Through imaginative play, my child has been able to develop emotionally. She also has a growing eagerness to learn, with curiosity and wonder of the things around her, especially with all of the outdoor nature play. We wish we could stay at OTP forever!
